Use With Or Without Red LED Flashing Light - This unit contains a motion activated red led light, as this feature has become extremely popular. When the motion sensor detects movement, it will activate the flashling light for approximately 20 seconds and then stop until it detects motion again. This is a lower end, value model so the motion sensor is not very sensitive. Typically only picks up motion within 3-5 feet. This means the light will not be activated unless someone is within that range. For those who do not wish to activate the light, simply install without the batteries and it will not be seen.
Battery Operated - For those that wish to utilize the flashing light feature, install two "AAA" batteries (not included) and turn the unit on. To access the battery compartment, remove the back cover. Battery life for this unit is approximately 6-18 months depending on brand and quality of battery being used and how often the light is activated.
